Balnespick Wind Farm

Our Proposals

We are proposing to develop Balnespick Wind Farm, which is located 5.6km to the east of Tomatin and 6.6km north-west of Carrbridge.

We are at the very early stages of our proposals and have submitted a Scoping Report to the Scottish Government. We are working to gather feedback that will, alongside the results of our technical assessments, inform the final design of the wind farm.

Application submission

We have submitted a Scoping Report to the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit (ECU) (August 2023). This describes our proposals and invites the views of consultees on the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

We have undertaken many surveys on site, and some surveys are still ongoing. These will inform the final layout of the turbines, ensuring that the project minimises effects on the local environment. We then evaluate and present the effects of the project in the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA-R). The EIA-R will accompany our application, and this will be available locally.

Further information on our proposals can be found in our document library.
