  • Two Community Engagement Events Scheduled for October in Tomatin and Carrbridge
  • Attendees Encouraged to Review Plans for a Nine-Turbine Wind Farm
  • Fred. Olsen Renewables Team Available to Address Queries and Collect Feedback

Leading independent renewable energy producer, Fred. Olsen Renewables, is set to host two public events in October to unveil the plans for the Balnespick Wind Farm. The project, located just 5km east of Tomatin, aims to introduce a nine-turbine wind farm capable of generating over 50MW of clean electricity while also establishing a community benefit fund valued at nearly £10 million to support local projects.

Local residents are encouraged to attend the forthcoming events, which will take place in October, where they will have the opportunity to meet with members of the Fred. Olsen Renewables project team, examine visual representations of the project, and provide their valuable feedback.

Julie Aitken, Senior Project Manager at Fred. Olsen Renewables, commented:

“We look forward to welcoming local residents to our first round of public exhibitions. These events provide an excellent opportunity for the local community to learn more about our plans, have their questions answered, and provide valuable feedback.”

“Balnespick Wind Farm will deliver a wide range of environmental, economic, and social benefits. This includes creating opportunities within the supply chain during both the construction and operation phases, in addition to a community benefit fund that is projected to exceed £10 million over the project’s lifetime.”

The events are scheduled as follows:

3rd October – 11:00 am – 7:30 pm – The Auditorium, The Strathdearn, Tomatin, IV13 7YN

4th October – 11:00 am – 7:30 pm – Carrbridge Village Hall, Main Street, Carrbridge, PH23 3AA

Julie added:

“We are committed to working closely with the community throughout the development of our proposals. We hope that people will be able to attend and provide their feedback. For those who are unable to attend in person, all materials will be readily accessible on our website.”
